MOSCOW, Jan 31 (PRIME) -- Russia and China have prepared a draft agreement on natural gas supplies through the so-called Far Eastern route, or a future trans-border pipeline to the Chinese city of Hulin across the Ussuri River to strengthen energy cooperation between the states, the government said in a ruling published late on Monday.
In February 2022, gas giant Gazprom and China’s CNPC signed a long-term contract for exports of 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas through the Far Eastern route, raising the combined maximum capacity of Gazprom’s exports to the country to 48 bcm.
Gazprom exported 15.5 bcm to China through the Sila Sibiri (Power of Siberia) pipeline in 2022. Exports through the pipeline should reach the projected capacity of 38 bcm in 2025.
